2. City of Louisville Representative Endorsement of green building topic and description of how the
City is addressing the topic discussed.
3. Program du Jour
4. Panel Discussion (homeowners that have "done it", contractors that "can do it with you", and
supporting organizations that "can help you along")
5. Parting Materials (resources, guidance)

We recommend that the Building Department and Planning Department be active collaborators in the
design and implementation of this workshop series, and allow a small amount of grant money to support
printed material delivered as resources at the closing of each workshop (could simply be City sponsored
material on Green Building Program). We recommend that the City advertise the workshops on the City
website and at City Council meetings. It is estimated that the administrative cost for each workshop
would be minimal - $50 for printed advertising. The Center for ReSource Conservation has offered to
assist with the marketing of the workshops through their weekly emails and website events.

CLOSING

No area of our country is immune from the troubled times we find ourselves in, however we can be proud
of the community's careful choices that make Louisville such a desirable place to live. Home energy
efficiency is one of the only strong investments we can make right now that actually can deliver a return,
and through careful material selection we can create and recreate our built environment into healthy and
ultimately enjoyable places to live. Supporting healthy and energy efficient homes and buildings is a
direct reflection of the strength, quality and commitment of our local community's desire to live in truly one
of the best places in Colorado.

15
