<br /> <br />NEW PARKS, OPEN SPACE, & <br />TRAILS MAP <br /> <br />The Land Manage- <br />ment Depart- <br />ment is sporting a new <br />Parks, Open Space and <br />Trails Map fresh with new <br />facilities, updated trails, <br />and clearly labeled parks <br />and open space properties. <br />map is a much needed <br />update from the previous <br />map published in 1995 <br />and is a wonderful guide <br />to the many parks, open <br />space, and trails facilities <br />throughout Louisville. <br />new maps are free of <br />charge and are available <br />at the Land Management <br />City Hall, the <br />Recreation Center, the <br />Library, and the Chamber <br />of Commerce. <br /> <br /> <br />How Do I RESERVE A <br />PARK SHELTER? <br /> <br />Complete an Exclusive Park Use Permit from the <br />Department of Land Management (717 Main Street) <br />and submit it along with your check for the fee and a check <br />for the deposit. All reservations are first come, first served. No <br />reservations will be taken over the phone, however, you may <br />call 303.335.4735 to check park availability. Your deposit will <br />be refunded and your deposit check mailed back to you the <br />week following your reservation provided the park is left clean <br />and undamaged. <br />Resident park shelter rental fee is $45.00 for first 4 hours <br />of usage and each additional hour is $20.00. For Community <br />Park, the resident park shelter rental fee is $75.00 for first 4 <br />hours of usage and each additional hour is $20.00. Additional <br />fees may apply. <br />For additional information, please call the Land Manage- <br />ment Department at 303.335.4735. <br /> <br />ARBOR DAY 2007 <br />SEVEN IN SEVEN CAMPAIGN <br /> <br />^ t Denver Mayor Hickenlooper's "State of the City" <br />.r-laddress last summer, a prominent feature was the <br />unveiling of a major "sustainability" initiative, Greenprint <br />Denver. An element of that is a regional program to plant a <br />million new trees over the next <br />20 years. Mayor Hickenlooper <br />noted this is intended to be a <br /> <br /> <br />to the "million tree" initiative <br />is to plant in the region 7,000 <br />trees in 7 days - "Seven in <br />Seven" - between Earth Day <br />to Mayor <br />invited the participation of all the cities in the metro area. <br />As part of the 2007 Arbor Day celebration, the City of <br />Louisville is proud to announce its' involvement with the <br />along with citizen <br />volunteers, local tree care professionals, and the Horticulture <br />and Forestry Advisory Board members will plant trees during <br />the 7 day period, April 21 - April 28. A <br />schedule of planting dates and times will be formulated ac- <br />cording to volunteer availability. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />HARPER LAKE BOAT PERMITS <br /> <br />Boating is allowed on Harper Lake with a permit and <br />only for approved boat types. No body contact with <br />season begins <br />May 1 of each year and ends when the <br />first ice forms. Annual permits may be <br />purchased beginning April 1. <br />Permits are available at the Land Man- <br />agement Department, 717 Main Street. <br />hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. <br />Resident boat permits are $15 and non-resident are $30. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
