SUBJECT: LEVEL CLEAR COVID-19 AND SPECIAL EVENTS UPDATE
DATE: MAY 11, 2021 PAGE 7 OF 8
did not have concerns about access or emergency response. Could allow
for additional space for attendees to view parade.
o The City could forgo the traditional parade and do something similar to
what was held in 2020 during COVID — a drive by car show.
Parks, Recreation and Open Space Programming — The PROS departments do
not currently have any large events planned over 250.
o For Open Space programming, registration is usually required to limit
attendees to 15-20.
o There will be some athletic events at the Sports Complex that will include
a large number of attendees throughout the course of the event, but not all
at one time. These will be subject to regular facility capacity limits and
possibly school restrictions (depending on whether they are high school
teams subject to any CHSA regulations).
Special Event Permits — County's Level Clear plan does not require a mitigation
plan/review for special events.
o Event applicants should be aware they may have to revise permit
application if that changes and County requires a plan.
o The permit application will encourage communication to attendees that
face coverings and social distancing are encouraged.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This is an information item and has no fiscal impact.
PROGRAM/SUB-PROGRAM IMPACT:
The scope and scale of the pandemic has had an impact on all City
program/subprogram areas.
RECOMMENDATION:
Informational item.
ATTACHMENT(S):
1.
