2/1/83 Page -9- Councilman Ferrera other is to minimize the appearance of gerrymandering_the lines should be as straight as possible, Felt that the ward lines as presented by the Planning Dept. were fair and reasonable. Also met the criteria of stabilization by projected growth estimates provided. Also felt that the Ward map as presented met most of the criteria that Councilman Leary had suggested. Mayor Heier Councilman Fauson Commented he agreed with Councilman Leary relative to minimizing the line changes; felt this was important with respect to voters remaining at the same polling places. Wished Council to take into consideration the business area and that they be repre- sented by all 3 Wards if at all possible. Suggested that the downtown area be repre- sented by Wards 2 and 3 and the Village Square Shopping Center in Hard 1. Councilwoman Morris Commented she felt this evening was the most unanimous meeting they have had. Mayor Meier Commented that he and Administrator Wurl had a received a letter from Mr. & Mrs. Eicher requesting deannexation of their property. It will be placed on the agenda for next council meeting. ACCEPTANCE OF COUNCIL COMMENTS Councilman Fauson moved, Councilwoman Morris seconded that the council comments be ac- cepted and placed on file. Question called for. All in favor. Motion carried. APPROVAL OF THE BILLS In the absence of City Treasurer Hesson, Chief Accountant Caranci stated the check to Phillips Petroleum in the amount of $801.49 would be voided and corrected in the amount of ~;732. 99. Total amount of the bills $81,123.38. Councilman Leary Inquired on thE~ bill for legal fees to Steve Williamson did this include any of the 1041 activities before Council took a position on it, any meetings with other cities or anything? Mr. Williamson stated he felt the bill was for $122.00.
