<br />2/1/83 <br /> <br />Page -9- <br /> <br />Councilman Ferrera <br /> <br />other is to minimize the appearance of <br />gerrymandering_the lines should be as <br />straight as possible, <br /> <br />Felt that the ward lines as presented by <br />the Planning Dept. were fair and reasonable. <br />Also met the criteria of stabilization by <br />projected growth estimates provided. <br /> <br />Also felt that the Ward map as presented <br />met most of the criteria that Councilman <br />Leary had suggested. <br /> <br />Mayor Heier <br /> <br />Councilman Fauson <br /> <br />Commented he agreed with Councilman Leary <br />relative to minimizing the line changes; <br />felt this was important with respect to <br />voters remaining at the same polling places. <br />Wished Council to take into consideration <br />the business area and that they be repre- <br />sented by all 3 Wards if at all possible. <br />Suggested that the downtown area be repre- <br />sented by Wards 2 and 3 and the Village <br />Square Shopping Center in Hard 1. <br /> <br />Councilwoman Morris <br /> <br />Commented she felt this evening was the <br />most unanimous meeting they have had. <br /> <br />Mayor Meier <br /> <br />Commented that he and Administrator Wurl <br />had a received a letter from Mr. & Mrs. <br />Eicher requesting deannexation of their <br />property. It will be placed on the agenda <br />for next council meeting. <br /> <br />ACCEPTANCE OF COUNCIL <br />COMMENTS <br /> <br />Councilman Fauson moved, Councilwoman Morris <br />seconded that the council comments be ac- <br />cepted and placed on file. Question called <br />for. All in favor. Motion carried. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF THE BILLS <br /> <br />In the absence of City Treasurer Hesson, <br />Chief Accountant Caranci stated the check <br />to Phillips Petroleum in the amount of <br />$801.49 would be voided and corrected in <br />the amount of ~;732. 99. Total amount of <br />the bills $81,123.38. <br /> <br />Councilman Leary <br /> <br />Inquired on thE~ bill for legal fees to Steve <br />Williamson did this include any of the 1041 <br />activities before Council took a position <br />on it, any meetings with other cities or <br />anything? <br />Mr. Williamson stated he felt the bill was <br />for $122.00. <br />
