12/15/81 Page -5- COUNCILMAN FAUSON Wished to express his concern relative to the negotiations with the State Department regarding the Superior Interchange and Mr. Biella's annexation. He stated this was a very dangerous intersection and he felt every possible effort should be made for this improvement. COUNCILMAN DEL PIZZO Felt that the State Department and the Mall developers should have reached an agreement in the past 5 to 6 months. Stated Louisville has never violated their comp plan even though they have been accused of doing so. He was in support of the annexation. COUNCILMAN BROWN Stated that Sterling Heights was just across from South 80th adjacent to the interchange, and a mile beyond STC is located within the 1500' boundary. He supported open space but felt it should be viable open space, such as the land adjacent to Coal Creek where picnic areas could be developed, and the commercial zoning was consistent with the area as requested. He also stated it was opinion that the State was trying to get into the land use issue and they should not have this authority. COUNCILI{AN DOMENICO Stated that he was against open space. Louisville at present has more open space to maintain than anyone else in the County. It was his opinion that the State has been the cause of the delay of improvement of the interchange, not Hr. Biella's request for annexation. He supported the annexation. ADOPTION - ORD. #746 BIELLA ANNEXATION Mayor Caranci closed the public hearing. Councilman Cummings moved that Ordinance No. 746 - Biella Annexation be adopted. Seconded by Councilman Domenico. Roll call vote: 1'1.eier No Brown Yes DelPizzo Yes Fauson No Domenico Yes Cummings Yes Motion carried 4-2.
