12/15/81

Page -8-

Administrator Wurl advised that the City's
share on the tax base on the average well
based on figures from Boulder and Weld Co.
$315 to $330 per year on the production
aspect, and $80 to $100 for the property
valuation.

COUNCILMAN FAUSON

Inquired. of the representatives from Teton
Energy Co. that he had some people express
concerns about the ordors such as sulphur
when the drilling progresses. Is there
any assu.rance that our ground water will
not be contaminated.
The petroleum geologist, John Berell,
with Teton Energy, stated they plan to
set casing down at Fox Hills, which is
the fresh aquafer in the area. When the
hole is drilled it will be done with fresh
water protecting the soil around it. As
for sulphur there hasn't been any in the
Denver of any kind that he was aware of.
The only ordors that he knew of would be
those associated with deisel motors.
Councilman Fauson asked, in the event the
well is successful, would all the piping
be underground. Mr. Berell advised they would.
Fauson then inquired about the traffic
pattern of the trucks from the site.
Director Rupp advised the points of access
to the site would be South 80th and Dyer Rd.
The representatives also advised they have
a contractor to lay the pipe. Their access
will be negotiated with the City and the
individual surface owners.

COUNCILMAN MEIER

Remarked that some of the pipelines will
run very near our ditch and he was concerned
about contamination in this respect.
Administrator Wurl stated there was a stipu-
lation i.n the agreement that the City would
have final approval as to the direct siting.
so this problem could be avoided.

COUNCILMAN CU~1INGS

Inquired regarding the procedure, was there
a time schedule submitted.
Director Rupp advised this was also a part
of the Impact Statement.
