<br />12/1/81 <br /> <br />Page -2- <br /> <br />Mr. Tennessen advised that their Company <br />would repair all damages they have caused <br />with the installation of underground cable~. <br />either to property owners or city property. <br />Ten-perclent has been withheld from their <br />contractor to cover this type expense. <br />He apologized for the delays and requested <br />council consider a trade-off for the delay. <br />He advised that two additional satellites <br />have been added to their system, increasing <br />the numbler of channels to 52 and the City <br />would receive this service without an <br />additional rate. <br />Mr. Tennessen stated he was aware the <br />deadline for completion was November 30, 1981 <br />and requested council to add an additional <br />two weeks for the completion date. <br /> <br />Councilman Meier <br /> <br />Inquired if his crew had been working on <br />Saturdays and Sundays as well as overtime <br />to meet the 11/30/81 deadline. <br />Tennessen advised that they had been, crews <br />from other areas had been brought in, etc. <br /> <br />Councilman Meier inquired what "novel re- <br />quirements" were requested by the inspector. <br />The power company required concrete filled <br />metal posts around each power supply. <br />Councilman Meier stated this as an advantage <br />on curb sides, detering drivers from knocking <br />them over. <br />Councilman Meier inquired if the phone and <br />power companies had caused the major delays. <br />Tennessen advised that in March the plans <br />had been given to these companies. The <br />telephone company required a pole permit <br />which took approximately 4 months - now <br />this is being accomplished in about 3 weeks. <br />Their crews were working in the mountain <br />areas and weren't able to service our area <br />until the first week of September. <br />Councilm.an Heier stated that it was his <br />opinion that the Company had made a good- <br />faith effort and was in favor or granting <br />an extension. <br /> <br />Councilman Brown <br /> <br />Asked if Storer TV had other commitments <br />other than Louisville. <br />
