b. In any type of tragedy, help is easily available shortly after the event, but recovery is a <br />longer project, and long term assistance would be greatly appreciated and impactful. <br />Ideas presented, Council approved assistance such as donated trees and plants <br />(giveaways) for private residence was discussed. <br />c. Fire awareness planting advice available to residents from Fire Dept., WUI (Wild/ Urban <br />Interface) issues are becoming more prominent in community discussions. <br />9. Finalize Discussion on Recommendations for Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) <br />a. PLAB comments last month were very useful in focusing CIP activities <br />b. Master Plans a focus, looking for some funding <br />c. CIP currently focused on Playground Improvements, Landscape Improvements, Medians <br />and Dog Park improvements <br />d. PPLAB member Shelly Alm wondered if allocated money for Median Improvement <br />needed to be spent this year? City Staff replied that we are still in conversations <br />regarding $500K for community park repairs, low bid was $544K. Additional <br />improvements may be considered due to Council approving increase in funding to <br />$830K <br />e. Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) damage making severe inroads along McCaslin with some tree <br />removal likely necessary <br />f. Prior plans for median modifications are still viable and supported <br />g. Dean Johnson noted that we will probably have a presentation by landscape architect <br />regarding design <br />10. Agenda Items for Next Meeting <br />a. Consider median and landscape improvement plans. Dean will send out original plan, <br />large document <br />b. Shelly might not be able to make next month's meeting <br />c. CIP and Fire damages are merging, median improvement and tree plantings need some <br />clarity <br />d. Dean will compose Bee City USA recommendation for Council and present to PPLAB for <br />comment and approval <br />e. Parks score cards will be finalized <br />f. Next meeting scheduled for May 51h, in person, with remote option <br />11. Meeting Adjourned around 8:45PM <br />4 <br />
