LCity q <br />Louisville <br />MEMORANDUM <br />To: Open Space Advisory Board <br />From: Open Space Division <br />Date: May 11, 2022 <br />Re: Information Item 6: Staff Updates <br />General: <br />1. Staffing: <br />a. Director of Parks, Recreation, and Open Space- We are excited to announce that <br />we have a new Parks, Recreation and Open Space Director! Adam Blackmore <br />comes to us from Prospect Recreation and Park District where he has served as <br />District Manager/Executive Director since 2020. Adam also served as Recreation <br />Superintendent for the City of Henderson, Nevada from 2016-2020. Adam brings <br />experience working in local government operating and managing community <br />services/programs and recreation facilities. Adam is estimated to start in mid - <br />June. <br />b. Ranger Naturalist- The Open Space division hired Brendon Meili to fill the vacant <br />ranger naturalist position. Brendon comes with two years of ranger experience <br />with Larimer County and the City of Longmont. Brendon has commenced his field <br />training and staff hope to have him fully in service before the end of June. <br />c. Senior Natural Resource Specialist- Steve Roels will be resigning his position this <br />summer and moving back to Michigan, where his wife has an exciting career <br />opportunity. The position will be posted in May. We are hoping for overlap <br />between Steve and the new hire for onboarding and training. <br />d. Open Space Maintenance Specialist- Deb Ayers, our Open Space Technician III <br />resigned in April. This position title is being elevated to a supervisory level and <br />tentatively will be advertised in May. <br />2. Cottonwood Parks Master Plan- Staff has tentatively proposed this CIP as a 2023 project. <br />The final schedule will be reviewed and approved by the City Manager's Office and City <br />Council during the budget approval process. <br />3. Staff has requested updates on the Public Works pipeline project impacting North and <br />Hecla Open space properties. <br />Marshall Fire Updates Pertaining to Open Space: <br />1. Staff are mapping Open Space trees and shrubs killed by the fire, in preparation for <br />removal this summer. <br />F:3 <br />
