City Council <br />Meeting Minutes <br />August 2, 2022 <br />Page 5 of 6 <br />If it is not continued, all multimodal projects will end in 2024 and the existing fund will be <br />used for ongoing maintenance and operations. She stated the County's surveys show <br />residents support continuing the tax. Staff is asking the Council what project categories <br />are most important to Louisville and what categories do they think the community will <br />support. <br />Mayor Stolzmann noted that Highway 42 is an important corridor for us particularly <br />related to bike safety. She also noted the South Boulder Road connection and the <br />Marshall Road trail connections help us. <br />Councilmember Fahey noted the need for more first and final mile connections for <br />transit. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Maloney asked if there would likely be funding for Highway 42. Brakke <br />stated regional corridors are on the list for providing local matching funds for State grant <br />funding. <br />Mayor Pro Tern Maloney asked if trails that are affected by flooding and poor design will <br />be considered for funding. Tim Swope, Boulder County Transportation, stated trails will <br />be considered. <br />Councilmember Dickinson agreed the first and final mile issues need to be addressed. <br />Councilmember Brown stated anything that can be done to increase bike safety would <br />be helpful. <br />Councilmember Leh stated accessibility issues need to be kept in mind. <br />Councilmember Most also noted the importance of the first and final mile segments if <br />we want to increase use of transit and being more accessible for everyone. <br />Commissioner Jones asked the members to help spread the work on these ballot <br />issues. <br />Mayor Stolzmann stated she will be attending the public hearing on Thursday to testify <br />in favor of the wildfire ballot issue.
