CHERYL MORTON
DIRECTOR OF COLORADO OPERATIONS
LE PETITE DAY CARE CENTERS

Administrator Wurl

Councilman Meier

8/4/81

Page -8-

approximately ~ acre of land, divided
equally between parking, building and
playground area. Buildings in Colorado
must be licensed by the State for 108
children, which is then divided by full-
time students, before and after school
students, and nursery children.

Councilman Cummings inquired what the
cost per student would be.
Her reply was from $40 to $50 per week
depending on the time they are left at
the Center.

Inquired if the company had any other sites
in Colorado financed by revenue bonds.
Mr. Wallerstedt advised they have 6 sites -
Aurora, Littleton, Lakewood, Denver,
3 now under construction - Arvada, Thornton
and a second one in Aurora. The need
is definitely in Louisville, but our
problem is financing.
Mr. Wurl asked if they had asked for
other revenue bonds in Colorado.
The reply was they had just been approved
in Douglas County for 4 units. This
was the only application for industrial
revenue i.n Colorado besides the request
in Louisville.

Inquired what their time schedule would
be.
60 days to close on the site - 4 months
to build the center, prefer opening the
centers just before September or just
after the first of the year. The company
is being solicited by STC because of the
large number of people in need of day
care services, based on their surveys, and
if council approves their project, they
would push to get a day-care center as
soon as possible - hopefully this time
next year.
