JOE TENNESON - STORER CABLE
TV

Councilman Meier

Councilman Fauson

6/2/81

Page -3-

Mr. Tenneson stated he wished to give
Council an interim report on the construction
of the Cable TV. There hadn't been much
progress made until now, because of an un-
fortunate situation unique to Louisville,
which was that Louisville is directly under-
neath a series of microwave transmissions
between Denver and the mountains with their
repeaters. All sites they had pursued for
headend location had noise causing white
dots in Cable TV. Another problem they
encounter,ed was internal reorganization-
the key person in the engineering depart-
ment caused a 6 weeks delay because the
site was not checked thoroughly and promptly.
In the interim he has been replaced and
all orders have been placed for Louisville's
headend electronic equipment with the top
line. Thl~ system is being designed with
the sophisticated equipment and will be
ready in 2-3 weeks. The telephone company
is causing some problem, but the down-guys
and anchors will be started next week.
Underground portion of the system will
be going in approximately 3 weeks. They
expect to have Cable TV on line within 5-6
weeks. The system will involve 31 miles.
Mr. Tenneson distributed flyers depicting
the initial programs offered. He informed
Council that Patty Stahl, an extremely com-
petent person, was their office manager.
Inquired if all clearances had been obtained
from the utility companies.
Mr. Tenneson advised that they had tri-lateral
completed agreement. with their company,
Public Service and Mountain Bell.
Councilman Meier advised that the Boulder
Mountain Bell office was extremely difficult
to deal with and suggested that perhaps someone
else maybe more cooperative.
Inquired of Hr. Tenneson if they intend to
have all their cable in place by Sept. or Oct.
Mr. Tenneson replied their agreement specified
it should be done the first part of September
and that deadline would be met. He also
advised that they had purchased a site in
our Industrial Area just west of Golden
Concrete, approximately 1 acre, a 3,000 sq.ft.
