ORDINANCE #718 liUNICIPAL CODE CHill1GES 1ST READING Councilman Meier Amendment to Ord. #718 APPROVAL OF AMENDMENT PUBLICATION OF ORD. #718 ACCEPTANCE OF CITY ATTORNEY'S ~PORT 6/2/81 Page - 2 - Seconded by Councilman Meier. Ques tion called for. All in favor. Motion carried 5-0. Each membl~r of council had a complete copy of Ordinance #718, in addition Attorney Joss distributed changes - on page 3 the timing of payments to the State relative to Social Security - entire sentence omit- ted, since this is regulated by State. Next change was on page 5(b) the section regarding the telephone tax was deleted. The last suggested change was on page 14 relating to animals. He then read the ordinance by title only. Distributed an amendment to the ordinance permitting residents to keep three ducks, geese, or turkeys in residential areas as an alternative to chemical control for grasshoppers. Mayor Caranci requested that Council have a discussion and make certain this is what they wished, so the ordinance would not have to be published a third time. Attorney Joss then read the amendment in its entirety. Mayor Caranci requested each member of council make his remarks before a vote was taken on the amendment. Councilman Meier moved that amendment 6.16.020 Section B be added to Ordinance #718. Seconded by Councilman Fauson. Roll Call vote: Domenico Yes Fauson Yes Cummings Yes HEder Yes Brown Yes. Motion carried unanimously. Councilman Cummings moved that Ordinance #718 as amended by 6.16.020 Section B be put out for publication. Seconded by Councilman Domenico. Question called for. All in favor. Motion carried 5-0. Councilman Fauson moved that the City Attor- ney's report be accepted and placed on file. Seconded by Councilman Domenico. All in favor. Motion carried.
