Administrator Wurl advised that the City does have that authority, but it was his thought that the cost of repair was assessed to the property owner. Inquired of Director Hioco, if a City Forrester were hired, would he be one with a degree in Forrestry. Affirmative. Inquired - what happens to the present Tree Board? Director Hioco advised with the approval of the Mayor, it would re- main the same. After discussion - Councilman DelPizzo moved that the publication of Ordinance #707 be postponed until further review. Seconded by Councilman Cummings. Question called for. All in favor. Motion carried. Attorney Joss noted that each council- man had before them a copy of the Minute Order received from Judge Neighbors. The Special Election date on the Centennial Vally Mall shopping center annexation has been set for March 3, 1981. Also he brought attention to the proposed election calendar and informed Council all State Statutes that control elections estab- lishing calendars go from the date of the election. He was requesting that Council approve the calendar so prepar- ations can be made to get it out to the County and obtain judges, etc. He also requested that Council designate the polling places for each ward. His sug- gestion was the Middle School, the Com- munity Building, and the City Hall. Inquired if the city employees would get the day off if Ward 3 voters came to the city hall to vote. Administrator Wurl advised - no. The voting would be held in Council Chambers and access from the stairway or elevator would not disrupt any of the staff or employees.
