ORDINANCE NO. 642 & 643 PUBLIC HEARING CONTINUED ACTION ON ORDINANCES ORDINANCE NO. 642 ORDINANCE NO. 643 Minutes - page 5 June 26, 1979 Don McKee 1045 LaFarge 1. Mr. McKee stated that he was surprised to hear so much discussion since there was so little ~rith the 1407 acre annex- ation. Councilman Meier responded that there was much more studying and detailed reading and review involved with:the larger annex- ation. Councilman Caranci stated that he did not like the statements made that the City did not give people! the opportunity to speak, when several lengthy public hearings were held and everyone was allowed to speak. 2. Credibility of the developer was commented on by Mr. McKee. Councilman DiCarlo stated that he ques- tioned credibility when a group makes insinuations about secret meetings of the City officials. Councilman Kilker stated that he did not want to be accused of going to the meeting with his mind made up on the issues. City Planner Drumm stated that the pro- posed 13 acre annexation being discussed was included in the overall plan for the shopping center. It will allow the City to honor their committment for the 1500 foot buffer zone. It is no deviation of the prior plan and the Planning Commission recommended approval of the annexation and zoning at a prior meeting after the public hearing. Mayor lvaschak c:losed the public hearing. Councilman Berry moved that Ordinance No 642 be adopted. Seconded by Councilman DelPizzo. Roll call. DelPizzo yes, Berry yes, Caranci yes, Kilker yes, Meier yes, Caranci yes. Motion carried. Councilman No. 643 be man Meier. Meier yes, Berry yes, DiCarlo moved that Ordinance adopted. Seconded by Council- Roll call. Caranci yes, Kilker yes, DelPizzo yes, DiCarlo yes. Motion carried.
