In his role as Chair of the Rocky Mountain Ranger Association (RMRA). Sr. Ranger Naturalist White-
Patarino helped facilitate and support ranger -focused content at the Colorado Open Space
Alliance (COSA) conference. This was the first year that there has been ranger content for each
session at COSA. White-Patarino also presented Distinguished Service Awards to three RMRA
members.
20. Rangers are working to identify areas where fencing and gates could be installed to prevent illegal
vehicle access onto Open Space.
21. Rangers have observed an increase in contacts with repeat off -leash offenders, which usually
result in a citation. Staff thinks this is due to the number of written warnings issued in the past
three years, which increases the likelihood of re -contacting someone who previously received a
warning.
22. The City of Longmont ranger program met with Louisville Rangers to seek advice about how to
integrate body cameras into their program. Louisville Rangers have been using body cameras
since August 2020, and were able to provide experience and key documents to support
Longmont's efforts.
12
