Rangers have observed an increase in off -leash dog contacts since the DOLA was <br />closed for repairs, especially at Davidson Mesa. <br />10. Rangers are coordinating with Natural Resources staff to develop useful ways to <br />present the light pollution measurements from the August dark sky programs. The <br />brightest spot in the City was at Olson Open Space (17.98 magnitudes per square <br />arc second) and the darkest was at Lake Park (19.9 magnitudes per square arc <br />second). On average, Open Spaces were about 0.3 magnitudes per square arc <br />second darker than nearby developed sites. <br />Education/Volunteer: <br />11. An interpretive panel on Riparian Zones has been installed on Dutch Creek Open <br />Space. The new sign introduces the importance and ecological benefits of these <br />zones including habitat for wildlife, soil erosion, water quality, and recreation. <br />12.
