Historic Preservation Commission
Meeting Minutes
December 19, 2022
property owners track their own funds. She discusses property outreach and how
to have a targeted, proactive outreach for potential landmark properties.
Haley asks if we were close to having a PaleoWest presentation. She would like
to have that in the beginning of the year.
Brackett Hogstad says they are still doing edits. She will get in touch with them
soon in order to get a status update.
Haley asks what the church bell note is.
Brackett Hogstad says the church bell and the blue parrot sign are in storage.
She wondered if the commission had an idea of what to do with these.
Haley says they should probably discuss that this coming year.
Burg asks if the commission is due for training in 2023
Brackett Hogstad says that the CLG review letter mentions that the commission
did not attend a SHPO-approved training so she would like that to happen if
possible in 2023.
Dunlap says he would like to have a follow-up process for properties that came
for probable cause but would like to know the status if those properties demoed.
Brackett Hogstad says staff has that information but she can see how to make
the tracking more publicly accessible. She asks for feedback on her proposed
work plan projects. Subcommittees could be responsible for certain projects or it
could be structured where these projects will be discussed on a quarterly basis
Haley says she likes the proposed setup with it being on a quarterly basis.
Burg agrees with Commissioner Haley.
Items from Staff
Subcommittee Review Updates
Brackett Hogstad mentions the alteration certificate for 612 Grant Ave's
addition. She also mentions the demolition review updates for 516 Lincoln Ave's
addition and 501 Spruce St's garage work.
600 Lincoln Ave and 612 Jefferson Ave is going to City Council on December
20th for their landmark and grant approval.
Upcoming Schedule
Brackett Hogstad discusses the January 16th meeting date and mentions she is
unsure when the new commissioners will receive their training.
The commissioners discuss interest in getting additional training.
Updates from Commission Members
None is heard.
Adjourn
This meeting adjourned at 7:36 PM.
7
