4. GOAL: ESTABLISH GOOD COMMUNICATION WITH MAYOR AND CITY <br />COUNCIL <br />STRATEGIES: <br />A) Have president meet with mayor periodically <br />B) Invite mayor and city council to meetings, events, etc. <br />C) Send copies of newsletter to mayor and city council <br />D) Provide copy of master plan and other pertinent <br />documents to council applicants prior to their <br />interviews <br />E) Sit in on interviews <br />F) Regularly attend council meetings and work sessions <br />G) President will assign a city council member and the <br />mayor to one LAHC board member to act as a personal <br />liaison (review quarterly) <br />5. GOAL: SPEAK WITH ONE VOICE <br />STRATEGIES: <br />A) Know our mission statement <br />B) Support group decisions <br />C) Keep personal agendas separate <br />D) Instruct contract employees on how best to represent <br />LAHC <br />6. GOAL: ESTABLISH PROTOCOL <br />STRATEGIES: <br />A) Develop handbook for all new board members including: <br />job description for board and officers, bylaws, approx. <br />number of hours required, master plan, policies and <br />procedures, meeting times and location, where LAHC fits into <br />the hierarchy of local government, history of LAHC <br />B) Write policies and procedures manual for events <br />7. GOAL: DISSEMINATION OF INFORMATION <br />STRATEGIES: <br />A) Set up committees that report to the group at each <br />meeting <br />B) President reviews and distributes mail <br />C) Include in minutes specifics and any votes agreed upon <br />in meetings <br />D) Notify president of additions to agenda or invited <br />guests at least one week prior to regular meeting <br />
