<br />Senior Associate Planner, March 2022 - Present
<br />Primarily responsible for leading project teams (both internal and external) through the land use entitlement process
<br />from initial project conception and design to jurisdictional approval. Client/Developer projects typically include
<br />residential, commercial, industrial and/or mixed -use developments, including master planning and area planning.
<br />Also serve municipal client's planning efforts and prepare expert witness testimony. As a Senior Associate I am
<br />responsible for mentoring team members, managing project budgets, reviewing client invoices, and supporting
<br />business development efforts.
<br />• Lead the company's Opportunities Maximization Group for the state of Arizona coordinating business
<br />development efforts, actively engaging in various professional associations and development community
<br />events.
<br />• Conduct both site and municipal code research and analysis.
<br />• Create project schedules for the entitlement process.
<br />• Projects entail a variety of approvals such as special/conditional use permits, variances, planned area
<br />developments/planned unit development including creation of development standards, subdivision platting,
<br />general plan amendments, rezonings, master plans, area development plans.
<br />• Lead neighborhood outreach efforts and host neighborhood meetings; present cases to approval authorities.
<br />CITY OF GREENWOOD VILLAGE, PLANNING DEPARTMENT, GREENWOOD VILLAGE, CO (2020 Pop = 16,000)

<br />Provide leadership, management, operational, administrative, and technical oversight to further the City's goals and
<br />vision and enhance the quality of life in the Village. Major areas of responsibility include current and long-range land
<br />use planning, development review, zoning administration, engineering, policy analysis and development, and special
<br />projects as directed by the City Council.
<br />• Manage staff of 4 FTE and contract consultants. Includes recruitment, employment, mentoring, evaluating and
<br />if necessary - discipline/release of both staff and contract personnel.
<br />• Represent the Community Development Director in that person's absence, including oversight of building
<br />inspections, neighborhood services and facilities.
<br />• Ensure all processes are effective and efficient, including improving by development of new methods.
<br />• Develop and successfully implement department -wide goals, objectives, policies, priorities.
<br />• Provide and/or guide staff support to P&Z, BOAA, and the City Council. Requires ability to make sound decisions
<br />under challenging conditions.

<br />Responsible for directing and overseeing all County planning and development functions in a high -performing and
<br />fast -paced environment. Major areas of responsibility include current and long-range land use planning, development
<br />review, zoning enforcement, short term vacation rental permitting, public information, emerging economic
<br />development initiatives, and special projects as directed by the County Commissioners.
<br />• Managed staff of 10 FTE, 1 PTE, and consultant contracts by providing leadership, support/guidance and
<br />promotion of innovation.
<br />• Managed the Community Planning & Economic Recovery committee for Summit County in response to the COVID
<br />pandemic.
<br />• Developed and successfully implemented department -wide goals, objectives, policies, priorities.
<br />• Worked with the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), other departments, boards, commissions, staff and the
<br />public to articulate a clear vision of the community's desired goals related to planning and development.
<br />• Developed the Planning Department's annual work program and implement as directed by the BOCC.
<br />• Prepare and manage the department's annual budget.
<br />• Represent the County on a variety of boards, committees, and panels, and at numerous public meetings and
<br />events including the County's four regional planning commissions and one countywide planning commission,
<br />Board of Adjustment, Comprehensive Plan Committee for neighboring Eagle County, Summit Prosperity Initiative,
<br />Summit County Chamber of Commerce, and Northwest Colorado Coalition of Governments.
