August 18, 1977
Minutes - page 2

KGNU CONTINUED

Mr. Wurl stated that an amended agreement
was presented to Lafayette City Council
who opposed any involvement on the part
of Louisville unless they helped to pay
for the construction of the tower.
Attorney Joss noted that he did have a
copy of the exchange agreement which is
between Boulder County and Boulder County
Broadcasting Association.
Councilman DiCarlo asked what type of
legal problem would come up if Louisville
did not give permission to utilize the
road to the tower.
Attorney Joss stated that there may be a
way for Lafayette to assign their ease-
ment, and if so there could be trouble.
Attorney Joss and Mr. Wurl did not know
if there was any way for the City of
Lafayette to assign their easement.
Councilman DiCarlo moved that the City
proceed with the objection of the tower
in support of the Planning Commission
recommendations made to the County Plan-
ning Commission and deny the option of
using that. Seconded by Councilman
Dhieux. Roll call. Dhieux yes, DiCarlo
yes, DelPizzo yes, Caranci yes, DiLorenzo
yes. Motion carried.

FIRE DISTRICT

Tom Poydock informed Council that one thing
that is needed to be known is the sale
of the land, equipment, fire hall and
other items; how much the cost would be
and who would be responsible for the balances.
Attorney Joss stated that there will need
to be a detailed budget and a detailed
outline of the service area before the
matter can be brought to the County.
Councilman DiCarlo suggested that the fire
department be given an answer pertaining
to the equipment, etc. at the second meeting
in September.

Chris Schmidt stated that the radio system
that the fire department recently got is
working very well. The department has
radio communication with the emergency wards
at St. Anthony No. and Central and have
the ability to speak with any hospital in
the state via phone patch. He stated that
by October, there will be radio communication
with every hosiptal in Denver.

RADIO COMMUNICATION
