June 21, 1977
Minutes - page 4

ORDINANCE #557 & 558
CONTINUED

Mayor Waschak opened the public hearing
on Ordinances #557 and #558.
Mr. Art Hausman spoke in favor of the
annexation stating that it will add 330
sites to the City.

Vivian Dhieux, Planning Commission member,
stated to Council that Planning Commission
has reviewed the petition and felt that
it was a good plan with the comprehensive
plan and meets all requirements. She
noted that with this annexation it will
help the City have access to annex the
property where the City water plant is
located. She also noted that in order to
attract commercial and industrial business
this annexation is beneficial as it will
create a better residential base for the
City.
She stated that as a member of Planning
Commission she was speaking in foavr of
the annexation and felt it good for the
City.

AGAINST.

Mrs. Lisa Joss of Louisville voiced her
feelings opposing the proposed annexation
stating that this will effect the water
system for the City and possibly hinder
the development of the CTC which she thought
to be the City's top priority.
Also, she felt that the annexation lo-
cation will be an eye soar to the Mesa
with the homes that will be built there;
and felt it would be more of a suburb of
Boulder with the location. She also felt
that growth should be slowed this giving
the City the opportunity to reevaluate
their comprehensive plan.

Jennifer Kissell supported Mrs. Joss's
statement and added that she prefers
the small town and would rather shop in
Boulder then have more traffice brought
in with commercial industry.

Percy Conarroe asked about the green space
stating that there should have been a
better type of open space program.
Mr. Drumm stated that in the subdivision
regulations open space dedicated must be
usable in terms of what the City plans to
do with it.
