<br />REZONING REQUEST CONT'D <br /> <br />Councilman DelPizzo stated that he felt <br />that the area should be rezoned as it is <br />not residential property with the commercial <br />areas surrounding it along with the rail- <br />road tracks and felt Council should ~e- <br />zone the area. <br /> <br />Councilman McDonald asked what type of <br />zoning is necessary to allow Jensen's to <br />continue his business. <br />Mr. Drumm stated that the type of zoning <br />request, 1tCB1t, wouJd work for Mr. Jensen. <br />Under the nonconforming use, the building <br />could not be expanded or rebuilt if <br />destroyed. It if was under a special <br />use review, it could be expanded legally, <br />and could be sold. Once the use is <br />granted it is a legal use and can be <br />carried on under the same use if sold. <br />Councilman Domenico stated that the area <br />around the rezoning request area, is mostly <br />commercial and felt the area should be <br />rezoned commercial along with the surround- <br />ing area. <br /> <br />Councilman Caranci stated that at the time <br />it was changed, Mr. Jensen who is request- <br />ing the rezoning was on Council and voted <br />in the residential zoning. <br /> <br />Councilman DiLorenzo stated that she was <br />not involved with the rezoning, however, <br />she stated that she was well aware of <br />the rezoning. She noted that she was not <br />in favor of the request. <br /> <br />Councilman DiCarlo stated that when this <br />came up for rezoning to residential there <br />were no comments brought before Council. <br /> <br />After discussion, Councilman Domenico <br />moved that the request for rezoning be <br />approved by Council changing the zoning <br />back to 1tCB1t. Seconded by Councilman <br />DelPizzo. <br />Roll call. Domenico yes, DelPizzo yes, <br />DiCarlo no, Caranci no, DiLorenzo no, <br />McDonald no. Motion defeated. <br /> <br />Councilman McDonald requested that staff <br />review the matter and come back with a <br />recommendation as to what can be done to <br />take care of the existing businesses in <br />the area in question without jeopardizing <br />the entire area. <br />Mr. Wurl stated that if the entire area <br />needs to be looked into again he noted <br />that the same pros and cons will come up; <br /> <br />-4- <br />
