LIBRARY BOARD CONT'D

She stated that they would like to ex-
pand east towards Main Street so people
would be aware that there is a library and
also for safety reasons as the library
is open during the evening.
Planner Drumm informed Council that
the library expansion has been included
in the grant application and the expansion
will be both east and west.
Council stated that they agreed with
Mrs. Hoggls request and appreciated her
presentation.
Mr. Wurl noted that the library expansion
was included in the grant application.

JENSEN REZONING REQUEST

Mr. Dennis Drumm reviewed his recommen-
dations noting that the Planning Commission
did hear the request and considered the
information and now recommended that Coun-
cil deny the rezoning request.
The public hearing was opened by Mayor Waschak.
Mr. Robert Jensen, 1400 Main St., stated
that his interest was to maintain his
business, which has been in existance for
25 years. It has never created any
hazards; and much of his business is
school children and did not feel that his
business was any type of hazard.
He stated that with the rezoning, it
puts him and his establishment into a con-
conforming use.

Mr. George Lybarger, 1428 Main St., stated
that as far as parking goes, he would
have more off street parking then any
other business in the City and did not
see where this type of argument would have
any bearing.
He stated that he was ungratefull for the
attitude that the Council and Mayor has
taken on the issue.

Mayor Waschak stated to Mr. Lybarger that
the Councilor himself has not taken
any type of attitude on the issue.

Mr. Lybarger stated that he may want to
put in a business or sell to a business
and that the property value is higher
as commercial then residential.
There were no other comments and the pub-
lic hearing was closed.

-3-
