RESCHEDULED MEETING

LOUISVILLE CITY COUNCIL

AUGUST 10, 1976

Mayor Waschak called the rescheduled meeting to order at 7:40 P.M.
with the following Council IT.lembers present: Domenico, DiLorenzo, Caranci,
DiCarlo, McDonald and DelPizzo. Others present: City Treasurer Hesson,
City Attorney Morris, City Administrator Wurl, City Engineer White,
City Planner Drumm and City Clerk Santilli

ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES

Mayor and Council approved the minutes of
the July 20, 1976, Council meeting as
presented.

COUNCIL ITEMS
RTD DISCUSSION

Mr. Kevin Adams of RTD Northern Operation
Group manager, was present and stated that
David Leahly, Directory of Transit Manage-
ment was not able to attend the meeting
as planned.
Mr. Adams stated that he would like to
discuss the paratransit proposal in the
Louisville - Lafayette area. He stated
that at this time they felt this type of
plan would be better thren a fixed route.
People would call 24 hours in advance and
request that the bus transport them to
Boulder or Denver on a certain day for
appointments, etc. or the bus type van
could be used throughout the City maybe
making trips to employment areas.
Mr. Adams stated that RTD would supply the
bus and would try to get a local re-
sident to do the driving.
Mr. Adams stated that on the off peak times
the service may want to contract certain
trips such as through the Parks Department.
Councilman DelPizzo asked why the large
buses on the turnpike could not come
through the Louisville - Lafayette area.
Mr. Adams stated that during the peak time
the buses are nearly full and this would
probably require another bus.
Councilman DelPizzo stated that it might
be good to get a bus running from Louisville
to Denver for students who go to college in
Denver.
Mr. Adams stated that he would check into
that matter.
Councilman McDonald stated that she did not
see how RTD could perform a good service if
the bus could be chartered or pulled away
from its area and also how a person could
depend on the bus if it is not on a schedule.
