COLORADO TECH. CENTER VERBATUM TESTIMONY *NOTE Mr. Mayor, we distributed copies of a memorandum outlining our position that we would like to review, but I will just quickly bring you up to date on the Pueblo meeting. We went to Pueblo to appear before the Colo. Land Use Commission. They heard the testimony from the City Staff as well as Mr. Mizel, Mr. Houlehan and Dr. Robin- son. The LUC considered dations from their Geological Survey. they requested that happen. They requested that the 150 acres that Dr. Robinson designated as a category of geologie hazard, that he considered to be a 1% chance that any subsidence would occur, they requested that that be in- cluded in the designation. They also asked that some wording be amended that dealt with certification by people as relates to the hazards and how they were to be corrected. The meeting lasted from 1:30 P.M. to about 5:45 P.M. There were some recommendations presented that were modified by the LUC. They dealt primarily with one thing, that was the CGS people requested that 30% angle be added to the hazard area which estimates that the meeting varied, but I think would have added double the amount of the land that they had requested. They did modify the Resolution, so as to strike that portion and did approve the other three areas that had been under discussion. The memorandum that we distributed to you is the staff recommendation on the proposed Council response to the LUC Resolution dated July 23, 1976. Mr. Wurl read the Memorandum dated August 9, 1976. (SEE ATTACHED) at that time recommen- staff and the Colo. To sum that up, basically, two different things MR. WURL I might just suggest that if you reviewed those things, and I'm sure you did, the comments that Dr. Rogers had as to the tests made by Dr. Robinson, he may want to respond to that. 4.
