PUBLIC SERVICE FRANCHISE

DISEASED TREES

CITY VEHICLES

CLEAN UP-LOUISVILLE

OFFICER MORRIS MEMO
PAULA PETROVICH

Councilman DiCarlo questioned the pro-
gress of the Public Service Franchise.
Mr. Wurl stated that the last word re-
ceived was two weeks ago from Mr. Robert
Person, Jr., who stated there would be
something to the City in a week; however,
the City has not received anything as of yet.

Councilman DiCarlo asked what the City
plans were for diseased trees this year.
Mr. Wurl stated that the plans are to in-
spect the trees and any tree which is on
City property will be removed. Any tree
on private property will be removed by
the City under the authority by Ordinance.

Councilman DiCarlo requested that outside
of the City Administrator and Public Works
Director, all other vehicles be left on
City property and not driven home to
save on car usuage and gas. He stated that
there are vehicles being used unnecessarily.
He stated that there are times when a
patrol goes past a home, sees a code being
violated, writes a ticket and then gives
it to the code officer to deliver. He
stated that this was not necessary. Also,
people are using City vehicles when not
on City business.
City Administrator Wurl stated that he
would like Councils permission to make an
analysis and come back with a recommendation
to Council, as the sanitation operator and
water plant operator use their vehicles
to check the plants during the weekend.
Councilman DelPizzo stated that the sanit-
ation plant operator does check the plant
during the weekends.
Council agreed to have Mr. Wurl review the
request and come back with an analysis.

Councilman DiLorenzo stated that the City
should start issuing summons on some of
the code violations, as she took a tour
of the alleys within the City and saw
many ordinances being violated.
Council requested that the Code Enforcement
Officer be instructed to patrol alleys and
issue summons where necessary.

Councilman Caranci stated that he did not
feel the letter from Officer Morris should
have been given to Council in regards to
a summons issued.

-10-
