May 2023 LCC Meeting Minutes <br />*Please see Beth's notes on first few items* <br />1. The meeting was called to order by JR at 6:30 <br />2. Roll call- Beth McLennan, Erica Schmitt, JR Ketelsen, Sarah Staunton (arrived at 6:35), <br />Sharron Nemechek arrived about 45 minutes into the meeting <br />3. Approval of this month's agenda: Beth motion to approve, JR second, no dissents <br />4. Approval of previous month's minutes: Beth motion to approve, JR second, no dissents <br />5. Public Comments: none <br />6. Chair Report- <br />- This should be sent over by JR for Sarah/ Erica for more details of the minutes. <br />- JR encourages that the LCC needs help in the fall for staffing and events. <br />- Staffing for events in the summer and responsibilities- JR gives a brief overview of staff <br />needed on average for the summer concerts. <br />- Notes that parking/ car control does not have to be as strenuous as it has been <br />in the past and that food trucks are pretty much self sufficient. <br />7. Informational item: Upcoming LCC and LCC Arts Grant events Erica <br />- Soul Penny Circus event are a bit lagging in their communications with her but we <br />expect them to fulfill their proposed event obligations at the same quality as originally <br />promised. <br />- Not All Men update: Their final event/ workshop will be held at Dana V. Music in <br />Louisville. <br />8. Action Item: Discuss and approve modified Soul Penny Circus show (2023 Art Grant <br />recipient) <br />- Need to move venues due to the nature of their event style. Erica still feels confident that <br />the updated/ adjusted program will be of equal quality. <br />- Beth motion to approve, Sarah second, no disscents. <br />9. Informational item: Volunteer opportunities for upcoming events. (see Volunteer spreadsheet <br />attached in meeting packet) JR <br />- LCC members are encouraged to add any ideas for more events to the list. <br />- JR requests that we have a knowledge of the existing budget to be able to move forward <br />with booking events. <br />- Encouraging to bring helpers to events hosted by LCC. <br />10. Informational item: Summer Concerts in the Park (Bands, Volunteers, <br />Food Trucks, etc.) (see Attachment) JR <br />
