ECONOMIC VITALITY COMMITTEE <br />Lou�sville <br />COLORADO • SINCE 1878 <br />SUBJECT: STAFF UPDATES <br />DATE: JULY 31, 2023 <br />PRESENTED BY: APRIL KRONER, AICP, ECONOMIC VITALITY MANAGER <br />AUSTIN BROWN, ECONOMIC VITALITY SPECIALIST <br />SUMMARY: <br />In the following, staff provides updates on recent activity related to core economic <br />vitality functions. <br />Business Assistance Program (BAP) Updates <br />City Council approved a Business Assistance Agreement with Parcel O Productions <br />LLC (doing business as Relish) on July 11. Relish plans to open a community pickleball <br />hub at 550 S McCaslin Boulevard. Their vision includes an eight -concept food hall with <br />seventeen pickleball courts. At time of opening, Relish projects that it will have up to 16 <br />full-time employees and up to 15 part-time employees. The average salary will be <br />$96,000 per year. <br />City Council approved a Business Assistance Agreement with Shamrock Foods <br />Company on July 11. Shamrock plans to open a new grocery store that will occupy <br />28,190 SF of vacant space at 785 E South Boulder Road (the former Alfalfa's). Since <br />the property has been vacant for more than a year, Shamrock also received a vacancy <br />bonus incentive. <br />Property Updates <br />816 Main Street (former Empire Lounge) <br />916 Main Street (Radiance MedSpa) <br />The Louisville Revitalization Commission (LRC) approved a Fagade Improvement <br />Program application for exterior fagade improvements at 916 Main Street. The applicant <br />requested 50% reimbursement of the total anticipated cost of improvements. The <br />owner's application for Direct Financial Assistance will return to the LRC for review in <br />September. A contract with Environmental and Planning Systems for third -party <br />financial review was approved by City Council on July 25 and will return to the LRC for <br />approval at its August meeting. <br />Ice Rink Update <br />The City of Louisville entered into an agreement with Rocky Rinks for equipment <br />purchase, equipment rental, and management services to conduct the City's annual <br />wintertime outdoor ice skating rink. City Council reviewed and approved this agreement <br />during its June 20 meeting. <br />Agenda Packet P. 8 <br />
