1976 BUDGET cont'd City Attorneys report. CAC APPOINTMENT Mr. Wur1 read the recommendation and re- quest from Suzy Westbrook Chairwoman of CAC on the appointment of Steve Taylor to the C.A.C. Board. Councilman Domenico moved that Steve Taylor be appointed to the C.A.C. Board. Seconded by Council- man DelPizzo. All in favor. Motion carried. COUNCIL COMMENTS & COMMITTEE REPORTS VOTING MACHINES Councilman Domenico stated that he has heard from several citizens that they felt the writing on the new voting machines was too small and it would be difficult to mark the correct person. Mr. Wur1 stated that the voting machines are issued by the County and there is not much the City can say. Mr. Wur1 also stated that he felt the new machines are a better system as the citizens can remove the cards and see who they are voting for. Mrs. Nancy Wur1 of Boulder Election depart- ment stated that anyone who can't read the ticket are allowed to have the judges assist them. She also stated that the only way another party can see how you're voting is if they stand directly behind the person voting. Councilman Domenico also stated that Mrs. Le1a Zurick informed him that she had written a letter to apply for an election judge in the November election. City Clerk Santilli stated that she never received the letter from Mrs. Zurick and if she had she would have considered Mrs. Zurick with all other applications. Mr. Wur1 stated that he was not aware of any letter either and that all letters received were given to Council in their packets. Mrs. Wur1 stated that the letter may have mistakenly been written to the County or to the party of their choice as is done for general elections. Councilman DelPIzzo suggested that these people be contacted and informed that the City did not receive their letters requesting to serve as judges in the municipal election 3 .
