ROOME PUBLIC HEARING REZONING 117 ROOSEVELT SWEARING IN OF COUNCIL- MAN CARANCI PRESENTATION TO COUNCILWOMAN SCHOLL KEITH HELART PARKS & RECREATION MEMORY SQUARE PARK DEED R.E.2 LEASE AGREEMENT -2- Mayor Pro-tem Berry opened the public hearing to anyone who would like to speak in favor of the rezoning. Mr. and Mrs. Roome, and David Poss spoke in favor of the rezoning for the building of a duplex. Mr. & Mrs. Charles Kranker, Frank Malczyk, Mrs. Mary Ann Williams and Mrs. Derl Forbis spoke against the rezoning. The public hearing was closed and Council stated their opinions. After discussion Mr. Wurl read the Planning Commission recommendation not to accepted the rezoning. Councilman DiCarlo then moved that Council accept the Planning Commissions recommendation to deny the request for re- zoning. Seconded by Councilwoman Dhieux. Roll call. Domenico yes, Berry yes, Dhieux yes, DelPizzo no, DiCarlo yes. Motion carried to defeat request. City Clerk Santilli swore in the new Councilman Lawrence Caranci who replaced Councilwoman Pat Scholl. Mayor Pro-tem Berry presented Councilwoman Scholl with a plaque for her outstanding work while she served on Council. Attorney Morris informed Council about the deed. After discussion Councilman DiCarlo moved that the Mayor and City Clerk be auth- orized to execute the deed together with Urban Renewal authorities for the transfer of Urban Renewal property presently being used as a City Park, City of Louisville and for the proper authorities of the City of Louisville to execute an amendment to the agreement of cooperation dated April 15, 1975. Seconded by Councilwoman Dhieux. Roll call. Domenico yes, Berry yes, Dhieux yes, DelPizzo yes, DiCarlo yes, Caranci yes. Motion carried. Attorney Morris stated that it was his re- commendation that the agreement be approved. It was stated that this agreement has a reimbursement clause from the school district to Parks Department if the land is used for building after is has been improved by the Parks Department. Councilman Domenico moved that the Mayor sign the lease agreement between R. E. 2 school district and the City. Seconded by Councilman DiCarlo. Roll call. Domenico yes, Berry yes, Caranci yes, Dhieux yes, DelPizzo yes, DiCarlo yes. Motion carried.
