KEITH HELART SERVICE EXPANSION FEE COAL CREEK TRAIL PROJECT LEASE BID - POLICE CAR COUNCIL COMMENTS & COMMITTEE REPORTS CONSORTIUM REPORT -3- Mr. Helart reported that according to Ordinance #416 the money in the fund can be used for acquisition of land. Mr. Helart asked for permission to use approximately $3,885.00 of the service expansion fee for study of a bike trail along Coal Creek which would eventually tie in with the Colorado State trails. After discussion Councilman DiCarlo. moved to table the approval until a legal opinion is obtained from Paul regarding the condemnation of land outside of the City limits and be discussed again May 20, 1975. Seconded by Councilman Domenico. Motion carried. Mr. Wurl informed Council that the City received one bid from 1st Municipal Leasing Corporation. It was stated that this was the vehicle that was brought before Council to go out for bids. Councilman DelPizzo asked if it would be possible to purchase a smaller vehicle. Chief Munger stated that in the long run the smaller cars are not much cheaper because of all the equipment that must be added. Councilman DelPizzo also asked if it would be possible to have a policeman walk for two hours through the business area. Chief Munger stated that the police were patroling on foot about one hour a day. After further discussion Councilwoman Dhiuex moved that the City Administrator be authorized to sign the agreement with 1st Municipal Leasing Corp. for the purchase of the police vehicle for amount stipulated in the agreement. Seconded by Councilman Caranci. Roll call. Domenico yes, Berry yes, DelPizzo yes, Caranci yes, Dhieux yes, DiCarlo no. Motion carried. Councilwoman Dhieux reported on the Consortium meeting held April 9, 1975. She stated that RTD was discussed. She stated that RTD will be coming to Louisville to establish input as to our City needs. She stated that there was also an update of Coal Creek project by Joe Madonna and Noel Hobbs.
