Wurl Htated that Mr. Joe "Madonna vilas elected <br />to represent the South Platt River Basin in the <br />Colorado Hater Congress. The former represent- <br />ative was from the Northern Colorado Conservancy <br />District. Having Mr. Madonna elected is very <br />good for the City and it shows 1.Jr. t1adonnas' knov.]- <br />ledge on the subject and interest. 111:'. Wurl is <br />to write 111:'. l'1adonna and infonn him of the Citys <br />great approval. <br /> <br />Mr. Wurl stated that in the original agreernent <br />with Wood Brothers, the Planning Carrmission and <br />Council agreed not to improve Via Appia south . <br />of Lafayette St. to the border of their annexation. <br />The reason was the street was not needed for <br />access to homes and without any use the street <br />vx>uld deteriorate rrore quickly. Now Wood Brothers <br />vx>uld like to pay the City $30,970.00 and be <br />released from any further repairs which would be <br />made on the roadway. Br. Wurl stated that there <br />should be more discussion on the matter. He also <br />stated that if the rroney was taken and placed in <br />escrow it 'WOuld not be known if the interest rate <br />vx>uld l~ep up with the inflation until the street <br />was expanded. He suggested that Council wait and <br />see 'What is going to happen with Sproul. Via <br />Appia "WOUld go through to Delaney Road if Sproul <br />is annexed. The discussion was tabled. <br /> <br />WX>D BRarHERS REQUEST <br /> <br />GRANT APPLICATIONS <br /> <br />The grants.' include: <br />Development of Industrial Land <br />Central Business District Redevelop- <br />ment 90,000.00 <br />Parking Lot Construction 40,000.00 <br />Councihnan Danenico moved that Council approve the <br />application for the Federal Grants. Seconded by <br />COlIDCihnan DelPizzo. Motion carried. <br />These grants are going through Fanners Home <br />Administration. <br /> <br />Grant <br />$70,000.00 <br /> <br />CITY ATTORNEY REPORT <br />RESOWfION 1/=9 HUTCHINSON <br />STREET SIDFJilALKS <br /> <br />Attorney Morris read the Resolution conceming the <br />installation of sidewalks on the north side of <br />Hutchinson Street. Councilvx:>man Dhieux rroved that <br />Council adopt Resolution #9 regarding the side- <br />walks. Seconded by Councihnan DiCarlo. Roll call. <br />Domenico yes, Berry yes, Scholl yes, Dhieux yes, <br />DelPizzo yes, DiCarlo yes. Hotion carried. <br /> <br />-6- <br />
