ltegular Meeting DRCOG MEETING PARKING LOT SPRUCE APARTMENTS RASH ITEMS FROM PEOPLE IN ATTENDANCE CEMETERY Louisville City Council February 20, 1973 Councilman DODlenico reported there would be a Police Commission Meeting Febru8iry 28th at 7:30 p.m.; also he had contacted a girl to take minuteis at Police Commission meetings. Counci1man/Yftii~i~ed that we set up a public relations program. Also, the City should grade alleys and have property owners supply red ash and gravel. Councilman Killg sugges ted he would like to see if we can abandon some alleys thrO\lghout the City. DRCOG meeting to be held March 21st. It was agreed we should send our representntives. Councilman Donovan moved to send Councilmen Jensen and Deborski to the meeting and pay expenses thereof. Seconded by Cc)unci1man Domenico. All in favor. Motion carried. Councilman Killlg remarked the parking lot at Spruce Street apart= ments off street parking had never been improved. When the fence was built at 11iners Field there was a vacant area of three feet which was left between the fence and adjacent property lines. No one is mai~ntaining this ground; tear the fence down and let property owners maintain it. This was was an agreement, but the property lowners were not notified. Mr. Wur1 is to notify these property owners. Councilman King also suggested he would like to see the City go to a franchise operation on trash and collect the monies, making it mandatory - obtain competitive franchise bidding. Councilman Jensen expressed his opposition to the City getting into trash pick-up operation. Suggested we inquire as to the cost of computerizing trash, water and sanitation each month. Toney Udovich complained of the sewer blockage. Councilman Ki.ng suggested the new area of the Cemetery there should be no t:rees, shrubs, planted perennials and the stones should be flush.
