<br />COUNCIL MEETING <br /> <br />October 17, 1972 <br /> <br />Regular meeting called to ol'der by Mayor Caranci. <br /> <br />ROLL CAIL: Present Deborski, King, Jensen, Donovan, Maxwell and Domenico <br />motion <br />ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES: CorJ"ec1~ion/made by King (not Maxwell) seconded by Donovan <br />that parcel of land in Industrial Park be let out for bids. Accepted after <br />correction noted. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE: Letters reEld trom: <br />Louisville Urban Renewal Authority - Appointment of Lorretta Jacoe <br />row Chem:i..cal Company - Slide show - Plutonium in theBDvironment <br />DRCOG - Grant of $5,900 - Local Planning Assistance <br />Motion by King, seconded b:r Domenico that correspondence be accepted and brought <br />under proper heading. Uot:Lon carried. <br /> <br />COMMITl'EE REPORTS: <br />WATER - King reported 011 Ct:tal Creek meeting held October 13, 1972. Corps <br />of Engineers ha:J to have a feaeibili ty study as the Federal Govern- <br />ment will requilre t:>ne legal entity, which will include the other <br />cOJlll'l.unities in l~he Coal Creek study'. A meeting will be held the <br />second week of liovlember, after election, with Mr. Sparks of the <br />Corps of Engine1ers and more information will be available at that time. <br /> <br />STREETS: No report <br /> <br />FINANCE COMMITTEE: No :report <br /> <br />URBAN RENEWAL: <br />Dennis Lundberg presented Petition for Creation of a Housing Authority <br />in the City of Louisville, Colorado bearing 56 signatures, which in part states <br />that unsanitary and unsafe inhabited dwelling accOllodationsexist in the City <br />of Louisville and that there is a lack of safe and sanitary dwelling accomo- <br />dations available for 1:nhabitants in the city, particularly' for persons of <br />low income, with a major llse for the elderly. <br />A board. would be set, up similar to LURA to determine if the need exists <br />and what the conditions are to meet qualifications. Members of the board haven't <br />as yet been appointed, as soon as they are council will be advised. Housing <br />Authority will apply for HUD grant - should be approximately 9~ which will in- <br />clude staff - remainder to, be funded by Revenue bonds. <br />Dennis 1:ntroduced. MI'. John Babbs of Colo rado Housing, Inc. who would pro- <br />vide planning and services; to obtain the needed Government Grants from HUD <br />and OEO. Mr. Babbs lef't brochures for Council to review regarding the program. <br />The City will have no f'eeSI - just what has been budgeted for 1973. <br />Motion by Maxwell, seco.ndeld by Donovan that above-mentioned petitions be accepted <br />upon validity of signat.urEls as attested by City Clerk. Motion carried. <br />
