COUNCIL MEETING October 17, 1972 Regular meeting called to ol'der by Mayor Caranci. ROLL CAIL: Present Deborski, King, Jensen, Donovan, Maxwell and Domenico motion ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES: CorJ"ec1~ion/made by King (not Maxwell) seconded by Donovan that parcel of land in Industrial Park be let out for bids. Accepted after correction noted. Uot:Lon carried. COMMITl'EE REPORTS: WATER - King reported 011 Ct:tal Creek meeting held October 13, 1972. Corps of Engineers ha:J to have a feaeibili ty study as the Federal Govern- ment will requilre t:>ne legal entity, which will include the other cOJlll'l.unities in l~he Coal Creek study'. A meeting will be held the second week of liovlember, after election, with Mr. Sparks of the Corps of Engine1ers and more information will be available at that time. STREETS: No report FINANCE COMMITTEE: No :report URBAN RENEWAL: Dennis Lundberg presented Petition for Creation of a Housing Authority in the City of Louisville, Colorado bearing 56 signatures, which in part states that unsanitary and unsafe inhabited dwelling accOllodationsexist in the City of Louisville and that there is a lack of safe and sanitary dwelling accomo- dations available for 1:nhabitants in the city, particularly' for persons of low income, with a major llse for the elderly. A board. would be set, up similar to LURA to determine if the need exists and what the conditions are to meet qualifications. Members of the board haven't as yet been appointed, as soon as they are council will be advised. Housing Authority will apply for HUD grant - should be approximately 9~ which will in- clude staff - remainder to, be funded by Revenue bonds. Dennis 1:ntroduced. MI'. John Babbs of Colo rado Housing, Inc. who would pro- vide planning and services; to obtain the needed Government Grants from HUD and OEO. Mr. Babbs lef't brochures for Council to review regarding the program. The City will have no f'eeSI - just what has been budgeted for 1973. Motion by Maxwell, seco.ndeld by Donovan that above-mentioned petitions be accepted upon validity of signat.urEls as attested by City Clerk. Motion carried.
