PUBLIC COMMENTS ON ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA Tim Hoar, 762 West Willow, Louisville, Co, representing the Louisville Power Line Corridor Association, which its a collection of citizens concerned with what occurs in the power line corridor. He stated that Public Service has been less than forthright in delivering information. He noted that the cost of the project was projected at less than $200.00 per square foot, yet the total cost of the project is in excess of $600.00 per square linear foot. He stated that an actual independent bid must be acquired to uncover the discrepancies and that he knew of two engineering design firms. He stated he has estimates for bids of approximately $9,000.00, and asked the City to help with the cost. He reminded Council that many people were__in_attendance at the citywide meeting at the Recreation Center in August. Since that time, PSCo has rescinded their offer and many people are not aware of the latest developments. He asked that the City conduct another citywide meeting to update the public on recent events-.with regard to the project. Deborah Lee, 481 Eisenhower, Louisville, CO, reported on woodpeckers causing damage to her home. She stated she c.~iled professionals for advice and carefully followed their instructions to no avail. She stated that she contacted the Colorado and Federal Divisions of Wildlife, Fish and Game aJnd followed their recommended procedures. She was given two options, one to hire a professional trapper to trap the birds, however there is no guarantee that the birds will not come. back. The second option was to hire a professional to use a pellet gun to remove the woodpeckers. She was told that this would require a permit from the City, however the City has an ordinance prohibiting such actions. She asked Council to authorize and permit her to hire a professional trapper to rid her home of the destructive woodpeckers. She stated that several of her neighbors are also experiencing the same woodF~ecker problem and presented a document of signatures. She asked Council for a temporary permit to allow a trapper to shoot the birds with a pellet gun. ~, COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS NOT ON THE AGENDA In response to Mr. Hoar's cornmE;nts, Mayer asked the City Administrator to investigate the information obtained by Mr.:Hoar's group. He stated that the information gathered might help determine the cost: difference. With respect to the destructive woodpeckers, Mayer asked the City Administrator to investigate this matter and report to the Council on what actions could be taken. Howard asked-City Attorney Light to investigate the Ordinance referred to by Ms. Lee and report to Council on available options. 2
