Sisk questioned O'Connor on whether the tenant signs will be uniform.
O'Connor replied that they will be uniform in size but not in color and anticipates there will be six
or seven tenants.
Keany requested that O'Connor include a provision that lights facing McCaslin will be turned off
at a designated hour.
O'Connor agreed.
Keany asked O'Connor if he would agree that there would be no neon signage in the windows facing
McCaslin.
O'Connor agreed.
Keany requested adding conditions that all signage is off at 10:00 p.m. or when businesses close in
the evening and that there will be no neon signage in the windows facing McCaslin Boulevard.
Bill Simmons, City Administrator, questioned the necessity for the trellis which was intended to hold
a sign that has since been removed from the plan.
Greg Gastineau, O'Connor Development, replied that the sign will still be mounted on the metal
trellis. The original plan called for wall sconces to shine down on the sign, which was not internally
lit, The number of wall sconces has been reduced, per Planning Commission's request, and the sign
will be internally lit..
Simmons stated that he was referring to the trellis on the footbridge.
Gastineau agreed that the sign has been removed from the plans, however, they would like to retain
the connection between the two buildings.
Mayer arrived (8:05 p.m.).
Keany moved that Council approve Resolution No. 57, Series 1998 An Amended Final PUD
Development Plan and Minor Replat, Lots 1 and 2, Century Retail. Center, removing the condition
that the project identification sign will use closed -face letters and adding the conditions that all
signage facing McCaslin will be turned off at 10:00 p.m. or when businesses close for business and
that there will be no neon signage in any windows facing McCaslin Boulevard, seconded by Howard.
Howard offered a friendly amendment that the sign on the bridge is eliminated from the PUD,
accepted by Keany.
Roll call was taken. Motion passed by a 5 -1 vote, with Sisk voting against, and Mayer abstaining.
