COUNCIL INFORMATIONAL COMMENTS ON PERTINENT ITEMS
NOT ON THE AGENDA

Howard stated that he, Councilman Mayer, and Public Works Director Tom Phare had attended a
meeting with the neighbors in Centennial II Subdivision concerning the cut-through traffic and the
density and speed of that traffic on a blind curve. Phare suggested temporarily put a right-out only
exit for that subdivision, which the neighbors agreed to.

Sisk reported that he and the other Councilmen had received a packet of letters that were very
laudatory and salutary of the Louisville Police Department. He spoke of Council's appreciation of
our Police Department and all City employees. He suggested the press review the letters and give
the people their due. He also reminded everyone that he and Councilman Keany would be having
their Ward I meeting Wednesday, April 8 at the Art Center from 7 - 8:30 p.m.

Mayer was very proud to announce that Moody's had upgraded the City's Golf Course Bond rating
to A-3 indicating the City's finances are exceptionally strong.

Keany recognized Troop 69 and Dana Curley, a Scout working on his Citizenship in the Community
badge, who were attending this Council Meeting. He pointed out that this morning they had
recognized Kyle Lamb as a distinguished Scout in Louisville at a breakfast at the Elks Lodge. He
recognized all of the Scouts and encouraged everyone to support Scouting in Louisville.

REGULAR BUSINESS

PRESENTATION - PROCLAMATION DECLARING INTERNATIONAL BUILDING
SAFETY WEEK 1998, APRIL 5 - 11, 1998

Davidson read and presented the proclamation to Tom Talboom, Chief Building Inspector.

Talboom explained that the City's activities in recognition of International Building Safety Week
would be the giving away of smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, kitchen fire extinguishers,
coloring books, stickers, and home inspection sheets for children, and a couple of emergency egress
ladders had been donated by the Louisville Fire Department. They are also offering installation of
items given away to those who are unable to install them themselves. He urged citizens to come in
to register to win one of the items.

PRESENTATION - PROCLAMATION DECLARING ARBOR WEEK IN THE CITY OF
LOUISVILLE, APRIL 13 - 18, 1998

Davidson read and presented the proclamation to Bev Beaufait of the Tree Board.

ORDINANCE NO. 1279, SERIES 1998 - AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE SALE
AND CONVEYANCE OF A PARCEL OF LAND OWNED BY THE CITY OF LOUISVILLE

2
