Farm .t it�4 4. tae She stated that she felt the Web �'`, Council should designate a moritoriue on some of the spending, such as LURA, L'HA, Parks & Rec. and others, She also stated that from listening to people they do not want higher taxes, growth, or water meters and she asked Council to take all into consideration. She stated that she felt it would be wise for Council to vier all pending bills and maybe discuss the situation. Mr. Wurl stated that in the past 10 days a memo was sent to all de- partment heads stating the conern of the finances and tobecatiousofcspending. Councilman DiCarlo stated that he felt it would be wise for the finance committee to have a work session. Treasurer Hasson scheduled a session for May 28, 1974. Councilman DelPizzo stated that the people in attendance should not get alarmed as to the financial difficulty as it is not like Lafayettes and we do not want it to get that way. LURA REPORT Mr. Lundberg reported that LURA would like to get Councils approval for LURA • and LHA with assisstance from Mr. Mel Stephan to prepare a code enforcement program on housing. This would be to try to help keep the housing of the com- munity in good shape. After discussion Council stated for LURA to go ahead and try to get some sort of code set up and bring it back to Council. Mr. Lundberg stated that he was informed that they were to receive a grant in the amount of $120,000.00 to be spent from July 1, 1974 to December 31, 1974. LURA needs to have the applications filled out and there has to be a public hearing on the matter. It must be completed Mr. Morris stated that the pp • does not have to be complete n shed as long as the application is in process of being filled out. Mr. Lundberg asked that Council be pre- sent at the next LURA meeting which will be May 15, and they could possibility discuss what matters should be handled with the grant. • Mr. Lundberg stated that there is one vacancy on the LURA Board due to Council- 3.
