-2- , FIRE CHIEF - KEN BUFFO Chief Buffo stated that there were two items he would like discussed. First was in regards to the rural area fire service. Maps were passed out to Council to show the service area for the firemen and where they had been cut back to. Chief Buffo stated that the rural area citizens pay $25.00 a year for pro- tection by Louisville' Fire Department. Chief Buffo stated that the map that was distributed was put out by the Fire Fighters Association. He stated that much of the area which had been covered by Louisville way given to the Cherry- vale Fire Department. The matter in question was how to find out if the old area could be regained by the City Fire Department. Chief Buffo suggested that the City send out a poll and follow it up by a telephone call to see how the old rural area people felt about their choice of fire departments. Mr. Hurl was to draft a letter in this manner. Chief Buffo also asked Council to approve a telephone with a direct line to the Broomfield dispatcher, instead of the line ringing at Louisville City Hall. The installation charge would be $60.00 and the monthly bill approximately $28.00. After discussion Councilman DiCarlo moved that the Fire Department be allowed the direct line telephone to Broomfield. Seconded by Councilman DelPizzo. Roll call. Berry no, Scholl yes, DelPizzo yes, DiCarlo yes. Motion carried. JOE MADONNA REPORT ON ERIE Mr, Joe Madonna informed Council on the WATER & SANITATION DISTRICT Erie Water and Sanitation District in regards to their proposal to make a regional plant to supply services to that area. He stated that this matter is a major concern to Louisville because it could jeopardize the City. future should !.t become a reality. Mr. Madonna informed Council that the matter will be brought up to DRCOG Water Resources Committee on August 9,1974 at 9:00 a.m.
