The different assumptions regard- <br /> ing western slope oil shale production <br /> in the state of Colorado range from 1,855,000 <br /> barrels a day to 400,000 barrels a day, and <br /> the increased population working will not <br /> be in the Denver region. In productivity <br /> a return after 1985 to a growth rate of <br /> approximately 2% per year was projected. <br /> Mr. Gebhardt stated migration had always <br /> been the dominant factor in this region <br /> in terms of o population growth since 1940, <br /> approximately 4 population growth. Especially <br /> in the years 1970-80 it accounted for every <br /> 2 out of 3 persons added to this region. <br /> WATER AND POWER Discussion by council regarding water and <br /> power utilities in comparison to growth. <br /> Representatives stated in the past this <br /> has not been a problem, but in all proba- <br /> bility these services would be upgraded <br /> to take care of the needs. The same comment <br /> was made by the representatives regarding <br /> transportation needs, and housing. <br /> Mayor Meier and councilmembera thanked the <br /> representatives of DRCOG - no definite action <br /> taken. <br /> TOM ROOME - LOUISVILLE MIDDLE Advised Council he was the Student Council <br /> SCHOOL PRESENTATION sponsor for the students who were present, <br /> representing the Louisville Middle School. <br /> They had purchased, paid for and delivered <br /> to the Senior Citizens recreation building, <br /> furniture consisting of a couch, love seat, <br /> 2 rockers, 2 end tables and a coffee table. <br /> The students raised approximately $1.200 <br /> during the months of December and January <br /> for doing something for their community. <br /> Mr. Roome introduced the officers of the <br /> Student Council. <br />
