1/18/83 Page -4- <br /> The last section involves sole, devices and <br /> sets forth conditions for their approval <br /> with respect to maximum heighth. <br /> Councilman Leary Inquired whet the significance was of the <br /> Subdivision Process Before change requiring completion of the subdivision <br /> Building Permit Issued process before the building permit is issued. <br /> Rautenstraus advised at the present time there <br /> are some situations whereby a property owner <br /> can simply come in and obtain a building per- <br /> mit and construct a building without doing <br /> anything other than meet building code requirerents. <br /> There have been a few times when possibly <br /> improvements did not have to be met, i.e. <br /> streets, etc. This would give all departments <br /> an opportunity to review these situations. <br /> Director Rupp remarked the subdivision process <br /> is intended to provide for the orderly develop- <br /> ment of the City, placement of the streets, <br /> easements, etc. and could therefore make <br /> certain that a structure would not be built <br /> on a proposed street or easement. <br /> Councilman Leary how this would effect <br /> lots in the older pa-t of town who wished to <br /> subdividc their props ty. <br /> Rupp stated these coula tie brought before <br /> the Variance Board as some sort of a hardship <br /> process . The intent of this provision was <br /> for the new subdivisions. <br /> Councilman Cussen Rcq::ested ciariticatian on the Appeals section - <br /> cees "the fee shall be k of the toning amendmenr <br /> fee." 1111gt Lc. this reel' <br /> Rupp advised presently it is $50. 00. <br /> Cussen inquired if this fee included the cost <br /> of mailing to the property owners within 500' . <br /> Rautenstraus advised it included the mailing <br /> costs. <br /> Councilwoman Morris Wished a change be made in the ordinance - <br /> presently read that no more than 2 members <br /> of the Board of Adjustments and Appeals may <br /> be current members of the city Planning Com- <br /> mission - wished this changed to read none" <br /> of the members of the Board of Adjustments <br /> and Appeals Board may be current members of the <br /> city Planning Commission. <br />
