CHURCH OF THE LATTER Attorney Rautenstraus advised that the DAY SAINTS - STREET street improvements have not been completed. IMPROVEMENTS Engineer Ken Huson has discussed the matter with representatives of the Ohurch and also with representatives of the company that have contracted to do the work. Ken Huson Act. City Engineer Advised that he had contacted the Inter- mountain Construction sub-contractor for the Morrnan Church to build the entire site and had been contacting him for the past 3-4 weeks, unable to get very far with them. Was informed yesterday that Intermountain has sub-contracted to Frontier Paving to do the street improvements and he assurred him that they would be doing that this week. Councilwoman Morris Stated the City should not wait any longer on the street improvements, they had ,been given ample notice several times - they promised to have them completed by August 2 , 1983 and felt that as a City should stand behind that commitment and take action on the Surety Bond and do what is necessary to complete the street improvement . Mayor Meier Concurred with Councilwoman Morris favoring the action on the Surety Bond and since the process would take 30 days approved of get- ting it initiated now. Councilman Cussen Commented he was at wits-end on the delay of the improvements and was weary with the many calls being received from the residents in the area. Reiterated that he feared that someone would be killed by driving into the hole. Felt that the Church people were being negligent by not putting more pressure on the contractors and be good neighbors with the City as promised. Suggested that as a City contact 2 or 3 companies - get some bids on the improvements and notify the Church people that the City will make the improvements and draw on the Surety Bond for payment .
