• <br /> 411 410 <br /> 6/18/84 Page -3- <br /> have been residents of Louisville for <br /> 11 years. She first became a part of <br /> District and State competitions where <br /> she placed first in both of these. This <br /> last week she took first place in National <br /> competition. However, at this time, she <br /> wished to show Council her project - <br /> Louisville the Spirit of- Community. <br /> Ms. Skeels showed slides of the early <br /> settlers to Louisville from farming <br /> communities and coal mining sites. <br /> Taped background music and a narration • <br /> for each slide was presented to Council. <br /> Everyone present showed their appreciation <br /> of the presentation with thunderous applause. <br /> Ms. Skeels thanked Mrs. Trementozzi, Head <br /> Librarian, the Louisville Historical Society, <br /> Mrs. Nora Clark and all the residents of <br /> Louisville as their pride and spirit of <br /> community has made Louisville what it is <br /> today. She than presented her slide pro- <br /> ject Louisville the Spirit of Comsmunity' <br /> to the Library. <br /> Mayor Meier thanked Denise Skeels for the <br /> 'fantastic" presentation - it is beauti- <br /> ful. ' <br /> Someone in the audience advised everyone <br /> present that Denise had taken this presen- <br /> tation to Washington D.C. and had placed <br /> first in national competition. <br /> Mayor Meier sincerely congratulated Ms. <br /> Skeels on her achievements and presented <br /> her with Louisville Centennial and Louis- <br /> ville Historical Commission pins. <br /> Ms. Skeels then presented the slides to <br /> mayor Meier and Mrs. Trementozzi to be <br /> part of Louisville's permanent history. <br /> RECESS Mayor Meier called a recess at 8:45 P.M. <br /> The meeting reconvened at 8:55 P.M. <br /> UNIQUE HOMES - ANNEXATION Councilmembers had a copy of the letter <br /> REQUEST from Charles S. Ochsner and Phillip Haas <br /> requesting annexation and a map depicting <br /> the location of the property. <br />
