• 411 410 6/18/84 Page -3- have been residents of Louisville for 11 years. She first became a part of District and State competitions where she placed first in both of these. This last week she took first place in National competition. However, at this time, she wished to show Council her project - Louisville the Spirit of- Community. Ms. Skeels showed slides of the early settlers to Louisville from farming communities and coal mining sites. Taped background music and a narration • for each slide was presented to Council. Everyone present showed their appreciation of the presentation with thunderous applause. Ms. Skeels thanked Mrs. Trementozzi, Head Librarian, the Louisville Historical Society, Mrs. Nora Clark and all the residents of Louisville as their pride and spirit of community has made Louisville what it is today. She than presented her slide pro- ject Louisville the Spirit of Comsmunity' to the Library. Mayor Meier thanked Denise Skeels for the 'fantastic" presentation - it is beauti- ful. ' Someone in the audience advised everyone present that Denise had taken this presen- tation to Washington D.C. and had placed first in national competition. Mayor Meier sincerely congratulated Ms. Skeels on her achievements and presented her with Louisville Centennial and Louis- ville Historical Commission pins. Ms. Skeels then presented the slides to mayor Meier and Mrs. Trementozzi to be part of Louisville's permanent history. RECESS Mayor Meier called a recess at 8:45 P.M. The meeting reconvened at 8:55 P.M. UNIQUE HOMES - ANNEXATION Councilmembers had a copy of the letter REQUEST from Charles S. Ochsner and Phillip Haas requesting annexation and a map depicting the location of the property.
