SPECIAL MEETING _ LOUISVILLE CITY COUNCIL JULY 54_ 1964 <br /> The City Council of the City of Louisville met in special session in the <br /> Council Chambers, 749 Main Street, Louisville, Colorado. Mayor Meier <br /> called the meeting to order at 7:40 P.M.M.D.T. There being present at the <br /> call of the roll the following persons: <br /> COUNCILMEMBERS: Michael Cussen, John Leary, Betty Johnson, <br /> Herm Fauson, Susan Morris, and Rick Luce <br /> ALSO PRESENT: Leon A. Wurl, City Administrator <br /> Curt Rautenstraus, City Attorney <br /> EXECUTIVE SESSION Mayor Meier called an Executive Session <br /> at this time and reopened the meeting at <br /> 8:40 P.M. He stated this special session <br /> was called to deal with the letter of <br /> resignation of City Administrator Leon Wurl. <br /> There was one person present that wished to <br /> speak to Council - Tony Del Pizzo who had <br /> provided Council with a letter. <br /> Tony Del Pizzo Mr. Del Pizzo stated that he was in attendance <br /> this evening as he was aware there would be <br /> an evaluation of Administrator Wurl. He <br /> felt that there had been a lot of pressure <br /> on Mr. Nurl in the past by some of the members <br /> of Council, and it was mentioned by them that <br /> Administrator Wurl had to go. Mr. Del Pizzo <br /> wished to speak in his defense as he felt <br /> that Administrator wurl has been a positive <br /> factor in this community in developing it <br /> to what it is today. Felt that all the things <br /> that have been done in the City was the result <br /> of Mr. wurl's efforts. It was Mr. Del Pizzo's <br /> opinion that pressure caused by the present <br /> Council in a lot of adverse dealings which <br /> caused him to resign. He felt that Council <br /> owed him an apology and encourage him to <br /> remain as Administrator. Stated that he <br /> was a very capable man and one of the best <br /> City Administrators in the State and felt <br /> Council 'would have difficulty replacing him. <br /> In his opinion it has been very difficult <br /> for Administrator Wurl to.work with the present <br /> Council as they opposed most issues that came <br /> up in the past 2A years. There ass problems <br /> with developers and the development going on <br /> because of their slew growth policy by stating <br /> that it doesn't pay its way. Yet there is <br /> a shortage of funds and where will this <br /> come from if the commercial and industrial <br /> base is not developed. He realized that <br />
