410 410
7/19/84 Page -9-
Councilman Leary inquired why the Venture
wanted this project completed by June 1st?
Mr. Shenk replied that the, agreement that
they put in place in April, they would like
to keep in place without a struggle and they
feel this is a feasible, rsalitic way to do
it; and avoid a lot of hard questions in
doing so. Also, hopefully will show some
good will on the Venture's part in accelera-
ting one of its April commitments for the
good of the community.
Bill Schuler, Rocky Noun- Mr. Schulder stated that he did not disagree
taro Consultants with anything that had been said. KKBNA is
a good firm. He felt that with reasonable
weather conditions the project could be fast
tracked; however if we have another winter
like last year's delays can be expected.
That would be a caution to beware of with the
June 1st deadlock. He also stated that the
Council has a list of projects that his firm
has been involved with to date, and included
in that is the Howard Berry Plant. The 42"
raw water line that will feed that plant,
they have basically completed that design
and there is no substantial effort left as
all the mapping has been done as well as
the legal descriptions for the rights of ways,
etc.and design and alignment of the pipe line
has been completed. Council must make the
decsision, but he felt their firm could have
the package completed very quickly on the
42" lines. The 12" interconnect line is
• 90% completed. Rocky Mountain Consultants
started this project 3 months ago; prepared
the drawings for a 2MGD and 4MGD plant, and
had done basic hydraulic calculations and this
had been presented to City staff 2 months ago.
Their firm was waiting to hear from City staff
as to whether it would be a 2 or 4 MGD plant
and they were ready to proceed on final designs.
They have done nothing major on the 30" line
out of the plants they had submitted some
alternative alignments to Homart to get their
input as to where they would like to see it
go since it goes across their property. He
pointed out in regard to the Howard Berry
plant, pumping was not a part of that package;
it is not going to pump water to the high
zone. Howard Berry is a gravity plant to
feed the low and middle zones. The fact that
