410 41,
7119/84 Pa -12-
With those points integrated into the 3
or 4 options that were discussed, i.e.
increasing tap fess; the developer paying
for more of the project; upfronting tap
fees and bonding.
Special !Meting - July 24, . Mayor Meier advised that another meeting
1984 had been set up with the Citizens Water Com-
mittee for Tuesday, July 24th; but if all
the information requested could be available
by then he felt Council would have time to
discuss this since the time frame for Homart
was August 1st, 1984. It was decided a
Special Meeting would be hold July 24, 1984
7:00 P.M. meet with the Citizens Water Com-
mittee and at 7:30 P.M. to discuss the
Howard Berry Plant fast track project.
Councilman Luce Commented that the proposal presented was in-
triguing as evidenced by the fact that Council
is willing to consider goind to the next step
to continue looking at it. His concerns were
not whether as much could be done in terms
of timing, etc. , but were financial in nature.
Whether we could put together a financial
package that would fly. He did not feel that
even though tap fees are raised frequently
they still don't seem to cover the expenses
involved. He favored the upfront tap fee
collection= but would like to discourage bond
funding at this time.
Councilman Fauson Commented that a lot of work had gone into
the proposal by Homart and KKBNA and wished
to thank them for that. He was concerned that
if a special meeting was held on July 24th
and Council has to take sage kind of actiart beforr,
August lst, could it be done at that time.
The reply was that it could.
Special Meeting Councilman Leary moved, Councilman Cussen
seconded that a special meeting be held
Tuesday, July 24, 1984 and that Mr. Rupp
be authorized to hire any services necessary
to help him come up with a recommendation.
All in favor. Motion carried unanimously.
Metes' Mayor Meier called a recta; at 10:02 P.M.
The meeting reconvened at 10:15 P.M.
