ORDINANCE NO. 848 - Increasing Construction Permit Fees
2nd Reading/Public Hearing
After further investigation of this proposal , it
appears that the new permit fee increase will put
the City of Louisville approximately 21 times higher
than neighborhina cities . As the fees presently
stand, we are approximately 111 times higher.
The following example illustrates the affect of the
permit increase :
Square Foot Use Permit Fee Permit Fee Increase
(Now) (Proposed)
20.000 Office 4889. 50 5665.00 775. 50
60.000 Warehouse 6839. 50 8205.00 1365. 50
1200 Single Family 450. 50 597.00 146. 50
Residence
I know many developers I have discussed this proposal
with have voiced their concerns with the increase and
believe that the City of Louisville will place itself
in a competitive disadvantage for attracting new
Commercial/Industrial base if it is approved.
Delaying this Ordinance may prove helpful for some
additional study.
