The news media had indicated that Louisville and
Lafayette were in negotiations regarding a joint
recreation center. Both Szymanski and Mayor
lauson asked Erisko if we had yet been approached
by Lafayette. Rriako stated that to his knowledge
there has been no formal request but he is aware
that Lafayette is conducting • study for •
recreation center also and that a joint venture
has been identified as a possibility to pursue.
Erisko has also been talking to the YMCA in
discussing alternatives to a City Rscre'tion
Center. All these items will be discussed at
length during the Council Work Session next
week.
UPDATE - LOUISVILLE WATER
TANK Hundley stated that the City of Louisville
presented a request to the City of Boulder Open
Space Board to construct an at-grade water storage
tank on Boulder open space. Sackett feels it important to tell Boulder
that our request for a water storage tank in
Boulder open space 'is not our intention to slap
(Boulder) in the face at all...but to preserve the
intent of that open space in the process.•
'That's why we are asking for the ability to put
that water tank underground so that our environ-
ment would be preserved, not our environment of
Louisville, but our environment of both Boulder
and Louisville."
Mayor Ysuson stated that it is his estimation that
all of this has been conveyed to the Boulder Open
Space Board and "they could care less what we
6
