appropriate to table this decision until Council has
had an opportunity to discuss it in detail.
Mayor Fauson stated that it would be appropriate.
Mohr moved that Resolutions #40, #41, #42 and #43 be
tabled until Council's December 15th Meeting in
order to discuss this issue at a Work Session.
Mayor Fauson seconded. Unanimous.
RESOLUTION #41 - CENTENNIAL #6 - SUBDIVISION AND
PUP (See Resolution #40)
RESOLUTION #42 - CENTENNIAL #7 - SUBDIVISION AND
PUD (See Resolution #40)
RESOLUTION #43 - CENTENNIAL #8 - SUBDIVISION AND
PUD (See Resolution #40)
AUTHORIZATION TO OBTAIN CONSULTING SERVICES FOR GOLF
COURSE REVIEW Hundley stated that because of the importance of the
proposed Coal Creek Golf Course to the City of
Louisville and its economic development goals, and
the limited experience of City staff in developing
golf course, he is recommending that the City
utilize a consulting service from a firm experienced
in golf course development and feasibility analyses.
Rundley contacted the National Golf Foundation, a
Denver based international consulting firm (Pannell
Kerr Forster), and an individual who does consulting
work for the PGA Tour regarding their interest and
approximate costs in providing consulting services
to the City of Louisville. Pannell Kerr Forster is
located in Denver and is easily accessible to Louis-
ville. Their projected fee is $2,500 - $5,000. As
this project is unbudgeted, staff is recommending
Council net aside up to $5,000 from its 1987 Contin-
gency Fund to engage the services of this consul-
tant. Ruudley also indicated that this is a cost
that should be passed along to the proponents of the
golf course, but Hundlay wants to be sure that the
consultant works for the City of Louisville.
It was suggested that the City contact Urban Land
Institute who would in turn impanel experts and
although this would be a good idea, from the stand-
point of cost and time, Rundley feels that the City
cannot afford to go this route.
Szymanski feels that getting this project underway
quickly isn't necessarily the issue. Szymanski
wants to spend as much time as needed to ensure a
quality development. "I think we are talking about
a big financial burden on the City and time isn't
5
